Pippley Walled Garden Wedding Photography

I photographed Nicole and Duncan’s wedding at Pippley Walled Garden in August last year. It was one of those days that felt effortlessly special from start to finish. Family, laughter, and a relaxed sense of celebration set the tone, with guests enjoying every corner of this stunning, historic garden venue in the heart of Beeston.

Pippley has a rich past as a kitchen garden serving the old Belle Vue estate on the outskirts of Nottingham. Lovingly restored in recent years, it now blends centuries of heritage with a romantic, modern elegance — a perfect backdrop for a wedding day. From the encircling walls adorned with climbing roses, to the lush herbaceous borders, spacious lawns and stylish marquee, it’s a venue that feels both intimate and timeless.

Formerly known as the Beeston Walled Garden, the team there recently announced a rebrand and a new name. It's now called Pippley Walled Garden, to honour one of the founding gardeners, Philippa, who was instrumental in bringing the garden back to life.

What follows is a visual story of Nicole and Duncan’s day — full of joy and emotion, it was the epitome of what makes weddings such a pleasure to photograph.

The First Look

Nicole's father is sadly no longer with us, so it fell to her father's best friend, John to give her away. John had travelled all the way from California to be at the wedding, and Nicole is like a daughter to him, so his first look at the bride was filled with pride and emotion.

The Ceremony

The Band

Live music for the evening was provided by the incredible The Goodfellows Band, who played an eclectic mix of rock and pop covers, and really got the crowd moving. They played two energetic sets with a short interval, and to their credit, they allowed Nicole’s son George to join them on guitar to play a song. George had never played with a band before, and had never performed to a crowd, but I think it’s safe to say he absolutely nailed it! So much so that he ended up playing the whole of the second set with them. I’m so glad that he’ll always these photos to look back on and remember his first taste of rock stardom!
